For the past two years, we have had our noses to the grind-stone developing this musical! The book was conceived and written by Tracey L. Corea, who brought in Thaddeus Corea as Composer. Next, long-time friend and Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento came on board. He is excited to be involved in this project as the Co-Director/Choreographer, and we are thrilled to have him on the creative team. We are proud of this work and anxious to put Life After Life on it's feet! All of the songs are written and demo'd (listen), the script is complete, and we are ready to GO !
We are currently looking for producers, investors, cast and crew, as we prepare for a workshop! If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us (click the email link).
Here is a little blog-history of our accomplishments so far:
June 2010-- Plans for a developmental reading are in full swing. This ones gonna be fun because we'll have the actors, Wayne, and a music director for a whole week! This one is strictly for Thad and Tracey to focus on the writing and the score, and to do re-writes and experiment. Actually, quite an amazing opportunity and this is the kind of work we artists love!!! Patience is a virtue...
May 27th 2010-- We performed two of the songs from our show at the Composer's Showcase at the Liberace Museum ! It was really fun, and we have connected with so many talented and generous artists. Tracey sang No More Crowds, accompanied beautifully by Tish Diaz (Jersey Boys) on the mirrored grand piano ! Then we played When The Sun Comes Out with Tracey on vocals, Tish on accordion and vocals, Daniel Phillipus (Phantom) on clarinet, and Thaddeus on guitar and vocals.
May 2010-- We are accepted into the FRINGENYC Festival in New York City. We are very honored and excited but due to the size of our show (a big musical for Fringe), technical constraints, and on considering the advice of numerous advisors, we are going to stick to our plan of quietly fine-tuning the book and music here in Las Vegas. We can't wait to present the piece, but know we have to kill it
when we present to producers, investors and an audience.Tracey widens the networking circle and more "advisors" come into the mix. We have some seriously established professionals watching over us. Confidence is rising but there's still so much work to do...
Dec 09 to April 2010-- Real life gets hectic and other jobs need attention, so little work is done, except thatĘTracey continues submitting the show to Festivals and networking.
Nov 2009-- We are accepted into The Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles CA but decide to hold off on presenting until we've worked the piece over a bit more. Great validation though!
Nov 2009-- We did a very helpful table reading (our second so far) here in Las Vegas in November 2009. We had wonderful talented actors and singers from several of the big shows on the Strip. We thank you all !
May 2009-- All songs (except one) are written and demo'ed. We start putting it out there to a select few.
Dec 2008-- Wayne and Tracey have our first table reading in NY with 9 Broadway veterans. All the music for Act I is written and sung and the table reading assists us greatly in writing Act II.
Summer 2008-- Thad is frantically composing for our first table reading.
Oct 2007-- Thaddeus jumps on board and insists that he should get a shot at writing the music
. He's never composed for a musical, but he's anxious to impress himself, his wife, and the world.
